Former Rep. George Santos’ brief time in the U.S. House of Representatives showed that Long Island Republicans must vet their candidates better, former New York Police Department Det. Michael Sapraicone told Newsmax on Monday.
The House voted on Friday to expel Santos, who had won his seat in the midterms, after a critical ethics report on his conduct that accused him of converting campaign donations for his own use.
Sapraicone, now a businessman running for Santos’ seat, said integrity will be an issue in the race for the seat in New York’s 3rd Congressional District.
