Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., for the first time labeled Israel’s military actions in Gaza as “genocide” in an opinion article posted Wednesday on his personal website.

“I recognize that many people may disagree with this conclusion,” Sanders wrote, with the headline: “It is Genocide.”

“The truth is, whether you call it genocide or ethnic cleansing or mass atrocities or war crimes, the path forward is clear. We, as Americans, must end our complicity in the slaughter of the Palestinian people.”

Stanford Study: Daylight Saving Time May Harm Health

A new Stanford Medicine study suggested that Americans could avoid millions of cases of obesity and hundreds of thousands of strokes each year by ending the practice of changing clocks for daylight saving time, The Hill reported.

For many Americans, resetting the clock each spring and fall is little more than an inconvenience. But researchers at Stanford Medicine say the biannual shift carries serious health consequences and that permanent time policies could deliver major public health benefits.

The study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, used advanced circadian rhythm models paired with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.

In the days since the tragic death of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, the Rev. Lucas Miles told Newsmax on Wednesday the pain is still raw — but so is the resolve to carry on Kirk’s work.

Speaking with “Greg Kelly Reports,” Miles described grief that “comes and goes” as he and the Turning Point USA team are gathered in Phoenix to prepare for what he called “the best sendoff possible” for Kirk on Sunday.

An effort to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., over comments about conservative leader Charlie Kirk was defeated Wednesday night when four Republicans joined Democrats to quash the measure.

Republican Reps. Mike Flood of Nebraska, Jeff Hurd of Colorado, Tom McClintock of California, and Cory Mills of Florida joined with Democrats in a 214-213 vote to support a motion to kill a measure by Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., to censure Omar.

“Tonight, 210 Democrats and 4 Republicans sold out and chose to protect Ilhan Omar, a woman who mocked the cold-blooded assassination of an innocent American husband and father, who has openly supported ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood, and who has repeatedly incited political violence,” Mace wrote on X. “They didn’t stand with Charlie Kirk. They didn’t stand with the millions of Americans mourning his death. They stood with the one who mocked his legacy. They showed us exactly who they are, and we won’t forget.”

Rep. Roy to Newsmax: Dems Political Violence ‘Purposeful, Organized’

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, warned Wednesday on Newsmax that recent political violence is part of a deliberate effort by Democrats and allied groups to undermine U.S. law and security, saying the threat must be investigated and exposed.

Roy said Democrats are deliberately fueling organized political violence in America, calling it “purposeful, coordinated, and well-financed” during an appearance on “Rob Schmitt Tonight.”

“It was great to have Kash Patel there putting Democrats in their place,” Roy said, referencing Tuesday’s heated Senate Judiciary Committee hearing where FBI Director Kash Patel clashed with Democratic senators over the agency’s handling of the Charlie Kirk assassination investigation.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced he was designating the anti-fascist movement antifa a “major terrorist organization,” a move that follows last week’s assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk.

Trump posted the declaration on Truth Social while on a state visit to the United Kingdom, hours after attending a state banquet at Windsor Castle.

“I am pleased to inform our many U.S.A. Patriots that I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION,” Trump wrote, adding that he would “strongly recommend that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices.”

A transgender city commissioner in a San Francisco suburb promoted a social media post that called the murder of conservative leader Charlie Kirk “cause for celebration,” the Washington Free Beacon reported Wednesday.

Gwen Gilkey, also a cybersecurity manager for Capital One bank, sits on the Diversity and Cultural Commission in Martinez, California. In a Bluesky social media post, Gilkey, who identifies as a woman, reposted an article with the headline, “Charlie Kirk is Dead. Here’s Why I’m Celebrating,” written by Assigned Media founder Evan Urquhart.

Urquhart’s piece began, “We’re not supposed to say it. It is terribly taboo. According to Reuters, at least 15 people have already been fired for saying it (reporting by NBC suggests it may be many more). And yet, and yet… there’s a stirring deep inside, a wild joy lifting our hearts, an impish gleam in our eyes as we say Charlie Kirk is dead. How could anyone be sorry? How could anyone be mournful?”

Rep. Marc Veasey, D-Texas, has drafted articles of impeachment against Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, The Hill reported Wednesday.

“If @NancyMace (soon to be a sucker and loser in her governors race) wants to strip @Ilhan of her committees for words she never said, MANY people are saying we should impeach the incompetent Kash Patel and Pam Bondi for the lies they ACTUALLY TOLD!! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Veasey posted on X. A source has confirmed to the outlet that the Texas representative has drafted the measures.

In an interview with host Mehdi Hasan on Sept. 11, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, seemed to mock Turning Point CEO Charlie Kirk saying, “Charlie was someone who once said, you know, guns save lives after a school shooting,” Omar said. She also accused the late conservative leader of having “downplayed slavery” by opposing Juneteenth and claimed he was not genuinely interested in civil debate. She added, “You have people like Trump who have incited violence,” she added. “These people are full of s**t.”

ICE, DHS Announce 641% Surge in Immigration Partnerships

The Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Wednesday they have expanded agreements with state and local law enforcement agencies from 135 to 1,001 — a 641% increase since Inauguration Day.

Under the 287(g) program, DHS said the agreements “give local and state law enforcement officers the tools and authority to arrest the worst of the worst, including murderers, gang members, rapists, pedophiles, and terrorists, from American communities.”

Starting Oct. 1, DHS said participating agencies will qualify for reimbursement opportunities, including annual salary and benefits for each trained officer, with overtime coverage up to 25% of pay. Agencies also will be eligible for quarterly performance awards tied to the successful location of illegal immigrants identified by ICE and overall assistance with ICE’s mission.

Weingarten Labels GOP ‘Fascist’ Days After Kirk Slain

American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten released an excerpt of her new book in which she calls conservatives “fascists” and compares Republicans to Nazis, just days after the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk.

Weingarten previewed her book, “Why Fascists Fear Teachers: Public Education and the Future of Democracy,” in Rolling Stone on Tuesday.

“Democracy is people power. But fascists want one leader or a small group of elites to have all the power. And that is what’s happening in the United States right now — with billionaire [President Donald] Trump having enabled his shadow governing partner Elon Musk, the wealthiest person in the world, to act as his co-president,” reads a section of her book.
